Drumcree NI U-Turn mission

 

 

Although in the past Drumcree has often had its issues we saw the majority of the community come together and support the U-Turn mission events. However in a sense it is a bit like saying ‘Can anything good come out of Drumcree?’ Well it certainly did! On the Sunday morning, at the start of the mission, the first ever joint service there was held with nearly 300 in attendance and over 20 responded to Christ.  During the week there were numerous events and some exciting stories of folk of all ages making a commitment, from many children at the various kids’ events to a 90 year old lady during a home visit. 

  

  

The biggest impact was among the men, with Roger having the joy of leading 15 personally to the Lord during the week. On the final Sunday service over 25 stood when the congregation was asked who had made a commitment during the week, with a number of men coming forward to share their stories including some leaders within the community. In the evening service there was a lot of ministry, with tears, reconciliation and healing. The week was followed up by an Alpha supper on Monday 26^th March and follow-up visits.
